DERYL GORE
VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH
Coach Gore continues to be an outstanding coach for Bartlett High
School.  Because of Coach Gore's dedication, work ethics and vigorous
workouts he has produced some of the best physically conditioned
athletes in the Memphis area. Our players not only apply these skills in
high school but often return to Coach Gore for guidance during their
college baseball careers.

Coach Gore  was born January 26, 1960 in Oakland, California.
He is the son of Buck and Joy Gore.  Deryl has been married for 21 years to his
wonderful wife Gina and they have a 20 year old son Matt who is a Bartlett High
graduate and now plays college baseball for Dyersburg Community College.

Deryl grew up in Memphis, TN where he participated in Baseball, Football,
Basketball, Track and Wrestling.  He graduated from Skyview Academy in 1978
and went on to play college baseball for
Jackson State Community College and
University of Tennessee at Martin   where he graduated in 1983 with a
bachelor's degree in Education.
He later received his Master's Degree from
Bethel College in 1989.

Deryl taught Social Studies and coached football at Skyview Academy from
1983 to 1991. He has also taught Social Studies and coached baseball at
Bartlett High School from 1992 to the present.

Coach Gore has the difficult job of conditioning each player.  This can be very
difficult as with each new season he not only has to work with the prior year
players but he also has to bring in new freshman who are new to the vigorous
workouts that are needed in order  play high school baseball.   If you attend one
of Coach Gore's workouts it may be hard to tell him from his players  because
he will be right in the middle performing and instructing each drill for the players.
Coach Gore continues to be highly respected by all his players.
